Acer’s 4.8 incher ‘phoneblet’

Well Acer‘s brought the phonebelt, that is mixture of phone and a tablet. It’s being powered by 1GHz Snapdragon processor.Acer confirmed that this hybrid which is 100% phone + 100% tablet would come to US in April and would be running  Froyo or Honeycomb. The display is pretty huge (4.8 inch) and boats of its unique 1024 x 480-resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio display ,but then don’t complain cause it’s a Phonebelt ! (We’ve got another thing for 2011,that other manufacturers would be busy copying  throughout the year  *sigh* )

Let’s wish Acer luck, and please wish me too so that I can  have my own Android that I desperately WANT.

Android Desktop Notifier: Can it be more awesome ?

If you are an Ubuntu + Android user then you got to try this app.

This project sends notifications to a desktop computer when certain events happen on an Android device, such as the phone ringing, an SMS being received, or the battery running low. The notifications can be sent over Wifi, Bluetooth, or (in the future) USB.

It runs as a service on android, consuming little resources while no events are happening, and the desktop application notifies the user about the event in some way (Growl on Mac, Gnome dbus notifications on Linux, Growl for Windows or System tray alert on Windows), including information such as the number that’s calling.

Once intsalled on your Ubuntu and your Android, you can be updated about recent calls, text messages etc, without looking in your phone.

How To Get It ?

Download/install the Android notifier application first.

You also need to install the desktop client. This is the thing that receives the notifications pushed from your Android phone.
